NIGMS Repository Expands Gene-Edited iPSC Collection

07/2024

The NIGMS Repository is now distributing 15 gene-edited induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines, supporting research into disease mechanisms and therapeutic development. Seven of these lines were developed internally and in collaboration with the UConn Cell and Genome Engineering Core, highlighting ongoing efforts to provide high-quality, isogenic models for the scientific community.

These gene-edited iPSCs serve as valuable tools for studying the functional effects of specific genetic variants, enabling researchers to investigate disease pathways with greater precision. By expanding the availability of these advanced cellular models, the NIGMS Repository continues to enhance resources for biomedical research.

A full list of gene-edited iPSCs available in the NIGMS Repository can be found here.
