Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell |
The parental cell line was recovered, reprogrammed to an induced pluripotent stem cell line, and expanded. The expanded line was evaluated for viability surface antigen expression and alkaline phosphatase activity. Pluripotency was assessed via embryoid body (EB) formation. Steady-state mRNA expression patterns of undifferentiated iPSC and EBs were determined via real-time PCR. Characterization data are included in the Certificate of Analysis. |

Remarks |
Clinically affected; developed right-sided symptoms at age 50; resting tremor of right arm and leg; slight shuffling gait with right leg; left leg spasms; cogwheel phenomenon of right thumb, but not left; later developed cogwheel rigidity of right arm and leg, but not left; drift of left arm in pronation; plantar responses on right side; right hemi- Parkinsonian syndrome and apparent left hemiparesis; marked hypotonia; hyperactive auricularis oculi reflex; positive glabella reflex; reduced blink; reduced spontaneous movement; no facial expression; hyperactive reflexes, left more than right; treated and improved with Sinemet; stem cell line reprogrammed from parental fibroblast line AG20446. Researchers purchasing hiPSCs from the NIA Repository are responsible for any limited use label licenses (LULLs) applicable to the cell line purchased. The applicable LULL to this line is Sendai-CytoTune. |
