Remarks |
Line KLC-HSV2; this sub-cell line was derived by infecting line KLC (GM16726) with herpes simplex virus type II (HSV2). This is the first human lymphoid cell line to show persistent in vitro HSV-2 infection extending over several years [Kao, Y.S., Sundin, D.R., and Gebhardt, B.M. Persistent infection of a lymphoma cell line by Herpes Simplex Virus, Am J Hematol 62:93-98 (1999)]. The NIGMS Repository does not guarantee HSV-2 expression in this cell line. |
